traditional and lime plastering

Plaster Restoration

We carry a large range of stock moulds covering many architectural periods but a large part of our time is taken up reproducing mouldings to match existing plasterwork. From just a small piece of the original cornice we can re-create an exact copy to the required length needed. Some restoration projects call for the cornice or other mouldings to be run in situ using slaked lime, hair and sand this is a more expensive and time consuming process but some excellent results can be achieved, once the cornice has been run enrichments such as acanthus leaves, egg and dart and dentals can be added where required. Archways are made to order, we have found that due to different heights and wall thickness a "one size fits all" approach does not achieve a satisfactory result.
